From 1940 to 1960, the arts in America boomed with vitality, creating a new vocabulary of organic forms. These forms are seen in the sculptures of Isamu Noguchi, the TWA building at Kennedy Airport, and the biomorphic boomerangs in the patterns of Formica. This period now called mid-century modern is the inspiration for these earrings.
