About the Artist: 

Irma Starr is a contemporary artist who works in the tradition of 17th-century slipware, inspired by the Burnap Collection at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Known for her mastery of classic glazing techniques such as combing, feathering, marbling, and slip-trailing, she has created commissioned pieces for private collectors, museums, companies, the White House, and the Smithsonian.
